Elizabeth M. McGeever
Director
Elizabeth M. McGeever is a member of the Corporate Litigation and Business Litigation groups. Her corporate litigation practice concentrates on representing parties in litigation involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, fiduciary law and matters arising under the Delaware General Corporation Law. She also handles complex business litigation and serves as Delaware counsel in commercial, intellectual property, antitrust and securities litigation in the Delaware District Court.
In 2007-08, Ms. McGeever was President of the Delaware State Bar Association. She serves on its Executive Committee and has held a number of leadership positions in the Association. In June 2003, received the Association's Women's Leadership Award. From 1991 to 1999, Ms. McGeever was a member of the Council of the Association's Corporate Law Section.
Ms. McGeever is also active in the Section of Litigation Leadership Group of the American Bar Association. She served on the Section’s Council from 2004-2007. Other Litigation Section Leadership positions include Co-Director of Divisions, member of the Diversity Plan Implementation Working Group, member of the Judicial Intern Opportunity Program and Co-Chair of the Committee on Class Actions and Derivative Suits.

- MacLane v. Enserch, 1992 WL 368614, aff’d, 633 A.2d 369 (Del. 1993) (representation of investors of limited partnership; case tried to $60 million judgment)
- Fine v. Sokol, Del. Ch., C.A. No. 18868 (representation of investor in derivative action arising out of asset sale; case settled after trial for $7.2 million)
- Gotham v. Hallwood Realty Partnership, L.P., 2000 WL 1476663 (Del. Ch.) (defense of limited partnership and outside directors of general partner in suit challenging general partner’s acquisition of partnership units; obtained summary judgment for outside directors)
